Georgia Gives Day | November 12, 2015
On November 12th, all Georgians will be asked to give
a little and share a little so that, together, we can do a lot for the
causes that we all care about. Whether you have $10 or $10,000 to give,
it all adds up to greater impact on the issues that support and enrich
our lives and make our local communities thrive. In the coming months,
we will share how FSC will be participating in this exciting annual
fundraising campaign!
WHAT: Emory’s Nonprofit Networking
Night
WHEN: Monday,
October 19, 2015 (participation is FREE)
7:00-8:30 PM –
(required) MAIN event
6:00-6:45 PM – (optional)
Pre-Event
AUDIENCE: Emory
undergrad, grad students and recent alumni from all majors
LOCATION: Cox
Hall Ballroom, centrally located on Emory’s campus
TO REGISTER: Deadline: Friday, Oct
9th – PLEASE USE the registration link at the bottom.
This event is a mixer, NOT a Career
Fair. You won’t be sitting behind a table and a stack of
brochures, but standing toe-to-toe with Emory students to mingle and
enjoy some refreshments in an informal atmosphere. Students are no
longer passive participants, but will be actively engaging with guests
from across Atlanta’s nonprofit sector!
Our format was designed to help students to realize that
face-to-face conversation really does
help to achieve clarity and vision around career choices. But it also
allows YOU, our guest, to share information about your own role in the
nonprofit sector and your organization’s mission – and to offer
insights and advice that encourages students to get involved. In
recent years, we have heard repeatedly from our Nonprofit guests that
this event made it easier to find volunteers, interns and future
colleagues who really “fit” their organization’s culture!
- Willingness to talk about your background and
organization and plenty
of business cards.
- Handouts are optional – since there will be no
display tables, only bring enough to carry on your person during
the mixer (no need for heavy boxes or displays to lug with you!)
WHAT STUDENTS WILL BRING:
- Students will bring their curiosity and
questions!
- Resumes are optional - students have been coached to
ask for a business card and then follow up with you after the
event if they wish to explore opportunities or talk further. Of
course, you may direct them according to your own preferences.
DEADLINE TO REGISTER:
Friday, October 9, 2015
*PLEASE NOTE: Only 1-2
participants per organization may attend. No unregistered guests will
be admitted at the door. A brief bio and
photo will be required from your organization’s primary participant
before you will be able to complete the online registration process.
